Women and wine. This was discussed at the conference, "When wine commitment is women", an event incorporated into the celebrations for 150 years of the Unification of Italy, held in the Senate and chaired by the Senator Renato Schifani. The data clearly demonstrate that, contrary to the trend of other sectors, the number of women involved in the wine sector has increased.

The president of the Worldwide Sommelier Association, Franco Ricci, has confirmed the large presence of women in the world of wine, saying that "women are much more interested than men in the concept of culture of wine and sommelier courses they are better. Of the same opinion Antonello Maietta, President of Italian National sommelier, which reinforces the concept asserting that "today 30 percent of our members is composed by women and in courses we have reached the parity between men and women. The wine is culture, heritage and art. What we lack is the awareness of its value".
Encouraging also the number of women employed in the wine shop and online wine shop department.
A great news in a world until recently dominated by men.
