How to reduce water retention

Summer is approaching, and if need sunny days and sea, it is also true that with the approaching summer is approaching even the nightmare of cellulite and water retention.
Water retention is a common problem that affects millions of people, mostly women (about one third of the Italian female population). The problem is not just aesthetic, but with the passage of time can lead to more serious diseases such as kidney failure circulatory inadequacy.

In practice, the water retention is the tendency of the body to retain fluid, which occurs mainly in areas designated for the accumulation of fat as abdomen, thighs and buttocks. The liquid so forfeited, not being drained by the venous and lymphatic circulation, giving rise to tissues swelling.

Very often, however, water retention is the result of an improper lifestyle and incorrect nutrition. So we batten down the hatches. How? By following few simple steps:
  • Drink a lot of water, at least 1.5 liters a day: the same old advice that you know well but that we do not follow ever.
  • Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, including pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, cherries, lettuce, spinach, broccoli and potatoes, that contain ascorbic acid, a vitamin that protects the capillaries
  • Eat white meat and vegetables, rich in iron and amino acids
  • Eat fish at least twice a week
  • Eat fruits and green vegetables
