Organic farming and extravirgin olive oil

Organic farming; today everybody is talking about, but what is it really?
First of all, organic farming is a school of thought, which has as main aim the protection and the preservation of the earth and its inhabitants.
In a land polluted by pesticides, pollution and global warming, has developed the organic farming, which doesn’t produce on the basis of mere economic interests, but it produces sustainable and healthy food.

Among the indispensable food in the Mediterranean diet such as cereals, legumes, fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and fish, it is impossible do not mention the olive oil. The organic extravirgin olive oil is a food with a rich and unique taste. But an olive oil, in order to be defined as a truly organic extravirgin olive oil, must to fulfill some strict rules. Mainly, the organic agriculture has to avoid the use of chemicals utilized to eliminate parasites and nourish the plants, replacing them with natural substances.

The organic extravirgin olive oil prices are slightly higher, since the production costs are high. Not to mention the cost of natural pesticides and periodic inspections, which require three years at least.
Eat organic oil means taking care of yourself and respect the environment.
