The Neapolitan pizza stg at risk of extinction!

The Neapolitan pizza stg at risk of extinction!
No, we are not kidding. The Neapolitan pizza, which only a year ago has received recognition the Italian Stg denomination (Traditional Specialty Guaranteed) may risk great!
A knock to the heart for all lovers of this healthy and tasty dish. The blow comes from the European Commission which has just approved a proposal seeking the suspension of all Stg that have not protected their name (in this case, pizza), but only the recipe.

To save the Stg Neapolitan pizza, Italy should submit a new application for registration, adding another term to the designation, and then something like "true Neapolitan pizza" or "traditional Neapolitan pizza".
But let us see what are the requirements demanded for a true Neapolitan pizza:
• Diameter up to 35 cm
• Edge between 1 and 2 cm
• Buffalo mozzarella doc or stg
Extravirgin olive oil
• Tomato
• Salt
• Basil
• Cook in oven

In addition, the Stg pizza cannot be frozen, or put under vacuum.
However, the pizza in Naples has a completely different flavor, and who has tasted it knows this! From the classic fried pizza to pizza with broccoli, sausage and a chili olive oil, the pizza in Naples is poetry!
