Sorrento dop olive oil


Sorrento: beaches, sun, sea, local products and... olive oil!
Olive oil is one of the most popular products of the land of the Sirens. Yellow color, heated by greenish, DOP Sorrentine Peninsula olive oil has an unique aroma, a taste slightly fruity with spicy and bitter notes and mint and rosemary smell.

 The flavor is sweet and bitter. The after-taste net, with hints of freshly picked green almond. Overall the flavor is balanced sweet and sour sauce, enhanced by the tomato-based fish and vegetables dishes.
The  Sorrento dop olive oil is produced exclusively with olives quality "Ogliarola" and "Minucciola" in an amount not less than 65% and Rotondella, Frantoio and Leccino quality olives, alone or together in quantities not exceeding 35% .

The olives must be collected no later than December the 31st. the process of grinding must happen by the second day of collection. The Sorrentine Peninsula olive oil dop can be only produced in the 13 communes of the Sorrento peninsula and on the Mounts Lattari. Among these there is the citi of Sant’ Agnello, where since the late nineteenth century, Sorrentolio is dedicated to the production of extra virgin olive oil. Born as an oil mill, the company Sorrentolio has then opened to the packaging and marketing of olive oil and flavored olive oil, among which the truffle olive oil.

In recent years the business has expanded to the e-commerce area site with the birth of the site Sorrentolio.com, an online olive oil shop.
