Italy Girolio 2011

The National Association of Oil City has organized a truly all-embracing relay team dedicated to the diffusion of olive oil italy, the strength of our agriculture.
This is the Girolio of Italy, a tour from 15th of October to 18th of December 2011 will be held in 17 Italian cities united by the cultivation of olive trees, and with the intention to obtain an extra virgin olive oil of quality.
It starts from the south and specifically in Castelvetrano Selinunte in Trapani and after finally arrives in South Tyrol at the 18th of December 18 on the occasion of Christmas markets.
For each stage, during which he held technical and scientific conferences, markets and tastings, the artist Ro Marcenaro draw a scroll and a special testimonial from the world of show business, sport or culture will be spokesma of olive culture of their region .
Finally, each city will deliver to the next local olive tree that then will go to a school with the aim of spreading the tradition of cultivation among the different regions.
