A record wine


A bottle of Italian wine, the 'Andrea' (50% Sangiovese, Merlot 15%, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah 5%, 15% Other red grapes) of the Umbrian winery Monte Vibiano has been sold at auction for the record sum of 70,000 euros. A very high price for a good Italian red wine!

The bottle has made by the master Murano’s glassmakers Vito Signoretto, whose works are exhibited in the most famous museums in the world.
The lucky, and wealthy, buyer has also purchased the possibility to spend a weekend in the Monte Vibiano Castle, Fasola di Bologna’s guest family.

The Umbrian business Monte Vibiano is one of the few Italian companies to have obtained the zero-emission certification by the Scandinavian board DNV.
A cure to the environment that has also affected the British charity "Pratham UK, which has specially selected the Mount Vibiano for the auction held last Saturday by connoisseurs in London, whose funds will be allocated in literacy and education projects of Indian needy children.
