How to preserve an opened bottle of wine

Wine should not be wasted even a drop, but sometimes happens that during a lunch or dinner leave an already opened wine bottle. Unfortunately the contact with the air modifies organoleptic characteristics.

What to do in these cases?
First you have to close the bottle with the cap and if you do not have the special air extractor fan from the bottle, you have to put the wine in the fridge.
Generally is in force the three days rule: it should do not store the bottle in the refrigerator for more than three days.

Red wines should be removed from the refrigerator at least an hour before the use, in order to achieve room temperature, while for white and rosè wines it only takes a few minutes.
By and large, the more a wine has an high alcohol content and is well structured, it will keep intact its bouquet.

Although as early as bottling the wine starts to change, both in terms of olfactory tasting. There are few wines which improve with the passage of time, keeping for ten years or more and are even more rare wines that reach the respectable old age of twenty years.
Finding good quality wine is always difficult, but if you want to buy wine online, we recommend you Italian Wine Selection, an online wine shop specialized in Italian wines and synonymous with quality and tradition.
