Wine and health in the history

The use of wine as a medicine has ancient origins. You can find citations about the medicinal use of the wine even in the Bible, in some passages in the Book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes and the First Letter to Ptolemy.
Even before the Egyptians used wine as a local anesthetic.
The Greek physicians Galeno and Celso instead recommend it to all those who suffered from stomach pains and chronic fatigue.

For example, the Falerno and Sorrentino were numbered among the best Italian wines, while the Cecubo was considered difficult to digest.
