Cork is the most natural way to preserve wine.
Indeed, in Italy and in other 12 countries was launched a campaign to promote the cork, promoted in Italy by Assoimballaggi and FederlegnoArredo.

The aim is to raise awareness and to encourage the use of the cork, but also to emphasize the importance of the cork forests for eco-system around the Mediterranean area. Cork forests are in fact a natural habitat for many animals and they contribute to reduce the CO2 emission of in Earth's atmosphere.

In the Mediterranean area there are about 2.2 million hectares of cork forests including some 225,000 in Italy, of while 90% in Sardinia and the rest in Sicily, Calabria, Lazio, Tuscany and Campania.

Cork companies are located mostly in Sardinia, where it is converted almost 70% of all cork worked in Italy.

Taste the eccellence of the Italian wine

The sweet Bacchus nectar will be the star for a month: May 2010 is devoted entirely to the wine! A whole month devoted to promotion, tasting and initiatives that have as absolute protagonist the wine and the wine tasting.
From the 6th of May to 8th of June there are a lot of events that leave from Naples, and then moved to Ischia, Caserta, Salerno and Pompeii.
Very original initiative is the Wine bus. I'm not joking! From the 14th of May until Sunday, a typical Red bus, of those usually seen in London, will circulate through the streets of Naples. On board there are two sommelier of AIS (Italian Sommelier Association), to discover and rediscover the good Italian wine tasting.
